What is the booking process?
After discussing which package you would like to go with, I’ll send you an agreement to fill out, add it to my calendar and I also ask for a 25% deposit to secure the date.
Do you Photograph/Video destination weddings?
Yes, I am always open to travel. There may be extra costs for gas or accommodation depending on the location. Travel costs will be added at $60 per hour travelled & accomodation may only sometimes be neccesary depending on start and finish times of the wedding.
I want something different are you are you able to create a “custom package” for me?
Of course! I am always flexible, and I am happy to discuss how I can tailor a package to suit your ideas or your budget.
Can you do Photography & Videography at the same time?
Unfortunately no. I can only truly do one at a time. If I am doing videography I would recommend that you have another photographer booked for the day.
Do I need to provide you with dinner at the wedding?
If it is a full day of Photography or Videography a meal would be much appreciated! It can be hard to find the time to pop out and get something.
Do you have a “second shooter” available?
No sorry, it’s just me! I’m happy for you to hire other photographers/videographers on the day aswell. We can always work together/around each-other.
Will the whole ceremony and speeches be recorded if I choose your Videography?
I can not guarentee that the audio and video will be amazing for the ceremony depending on the weather etc. But I do atempt to get the full ceremony if the “Boutique” FULL DAY package is chosen. The videography packages I offer is a “Highlights Reel” A cinematic style edit showcasing the whole day within a short video edit, this means it will just have snippets/highlights of the ceremony. I do my best to capture the audio of the vows to put over the video. For speeches, this depends on the package you choose. The “Boutique” Videography package includes ALL speeches and first dance supplied separately to your final video edit.
What would you say is your photographic style?
I take a photojournalism/documentary approach for much of the wedding. Few photos will be posed but for the most part I believe in being unobtrusive on the day, allowing you to enjoy your wedding day that you waited so long for. I love capturing real emotions and those natural/un-staged unforgettable moments as they happen so I aim to be as quiet as I can.
Can I show you example of photos on Pintrest or from other photographers that I like?
Yes no problem! I love to see what sort of photo ideas you have in mind. We can definitely take inspiration from others.
How many photographs do you take/deliver from a wedding day?
I usually supply between 500 to 1500 photos depending the length of your wedding day and package chosen.
When & how will I receive my photos?
I will send you a ‘sneak peek’ a few days after your wedding if you like which I will send through Facebook or Email. I may also post a couple of Images to facebook as a sneak peak for my followers. (if consent is signed) But you will receive all the edited files on a USB drive via track & trace courier no later than 5 weeks after your wedding.
When & how will I receive my video?
No later than 5 weeks after your wedding I will send you a link to Vimeo which will be password protected so you are the first to see you video. I will also post the video file on a USB to your home. Once you are happy to share it, if consent is signed then I can remove the password and this will allow the video to be shared on social media with all your friends and family.
Will I be the first to see my photos or video before you post it online?
Yes! Of course. I will often post one photo or a very quick sneak peek (if consent is signed) before you receive the hard copy in the mail. Once you have notified me that you have received all your photos or video, only then will I begin to post the photos or video online & also create an online portfolio for your day on my website www.maycreative.co.nz.
Will my images be retouched?
Yes, all of your images will be colour corrected with a selection of black & white images also.
If I do not want a paticular photo or ANY of my photos or video shared on social media/website is that ok?
Yes, no problem at all. I completely understand that some couples prefer to keep thier lives more private. At the end of the day I just want my bride & groom to be happy.
So who “owns” the photographs?
Technically both of us! You are free to use, crop, print and post your photos as you wish. (See form attached for more information)
